My Background
Married to Sue and have three adult children, Arron, Jeremy and Renay with 6 Grandchildren 5 girls and 1 boy. I was born in Warrnambool and lived in Woolsthorpe and educated in Warrnambool. I have now lived in Warrnambool for over 40 years.
I worked for Warrnambool City Council for 20 years as Construction foreman and later Treatment Plant Superintendent . In 1994 I was transferred from Local Government to South West Water and now Wannon Water and am currently the Treatment Operations Coordinator.
I am currently a director on the Government Skills Australia Training Skills Council and Chairperson of the National Water Industry Advisory Council, which develops training packages for the Water Industry.
I am currently a director of the Water Industry Operators Association and member of the Conference Committee. Past President of the Municipal Employees Union. (15 years on State Executive).
Community Involvement
Played football and cricket locally; involved in Rotary as a member of Rotary Club of Warrnambool, President 1997- 98; Assistant Governor 2003 to 06 for Rotary District 9780 and assisted in setting up Neighborouhood Watch in Warrnambool being an Area and Chairperson for 4 years.
Local Government
My interests in Local Government are broad and I would like to make sure the Environment is protected for our future generations.
I also have a strong knowledge of the drainage system in Warrnambool and this needs to be improved and maintained.
Keeping pressure on the State and Federal Governments to improve our road system and up-grade Mortlake Rd to a dual carriage to improve traffic flow into the City from the North.
Improve the Central Business district to attract retailers and out of town customers to Warrnambool.
